Gearhaven started as a small bench space in Bangkok — and that focus has stayed central to everything we do.
How Gearhaven came to be
Gearhaven opened its doors on Thanon Ratchadamri in 2014, occupying a compact ground-floor space that had previously been a tailor's workshop. The name came from an early conversation about what the space should feel like — somewhere that watches could arrive in uncertain condition and leave better cared for.
The work began with quartz repairs and a handful of pocket watch commissions, both of which remain central to what we offer. Over the years the scope has grown to include lume renewal work, which requires a different kind of patience and a steady eye for period-appropriate detail.
Bangkok draws a wide range of timepieces — family heirlooms from the north, travel-worn dress watches, pocket watches passed through several generations. We've found that the work is most satisfying when the piece has a story behind it, and when the owner wants it treated accordingly.

Phitak Kaewsiri
Lead Watchmaker
Phitak has worked on mechanical and quartz movements for over eighteen years. He leads all technical assessments and handles pocket watch servicing personally.
Narin Sutthiphong
Restoration Specialist
Narin focuses on dial and case work, including lume renewal. She has a background in fine craft and brings that eye for detail to every piece on her bench.

Client Liaison & Intake
Thanawat manages intake assessments and all client communication. He ensures that the written summary of work is clear, complete, and easy to understand.
How we keep standards consistent
Documented Intake Process
Every piece receives a written intake record noting its condition on arrival. This record travels with the watch throughout its time in the workshop.
Appropriate Tools Only
We use calibrated hand tools matched to the movement type. Power tools are not used on delicate or antique mechanisms where risk of damage is elevated.
Quality Movement Lubricants
We use watchmaker-grade lubricants appropriate to the movement type and age. Generic or expired oils are not used on any piece that passes through the workshop.
Secure Storage
Pieces not actively on a bench are kept in a locked, climate-managed cabinet. Access is restricted to workshop staff, and each piece is tracked by its intake number.
Scope Approval Before Work
No chargeable work begins without the client's explicit approval of the scope and estimated cost. If unexpected findings arise, work pauses pending a discussion.
Data Handled with Care
Client contact details collected at intake are used only for communication about the piece in question and are not passed to third parties.
Watch repair and restoration in Bangkok
Gearhaven operates from a dedicated workshop space in the Lumphini area of Pathum Wan — a district where a number of Bangkok's more established specialist trades have settled over the years. The location puts us within reach of both city-centre residents and visitors passing through on Thanon Ratchadamri.
Our work covers three core areas: quartz movement repair, luminous marker renewal, and pocket watch servicing. Each of these requires a different set of skills and materials, and we approach them as distinct disciplines rather than variations on a single process.
Pocket watches in particular are a focus we've developed carefully over the years. Older pieces often need sourced or fabricated parts, and the case and hinge work calls for a gentleness that doesn't come from speed. We don't rush these commissions, and we tell clients plainly if a piece would benefit more from careful storage than from intervention.
